About PN

What: Paper Napkin is a service to help passive-agressive cowards avoid people who would like to date them. If someone random asks you for your email address so they can contact you for a date, give them an email address @papernapkin.net (write it on a cocktail napkin for maximum effect) and we will send them a rejection message. You can put anything before the @ sign in the address, so feel free to use a real-sounding name so that they'll believe it. If they actually send a message and it's funny and/or desperate enough, it might get posted on the best-of page for us all to laugh at.

Who: PN was conceived by Josh Santangelo and a couple of co-workers over lunch, and was developed in a couple of hours. We'll see where it goes from here. The site will stay up until some girl gives Josh a papernapkin.net address as her email, and the universe collapses in on itself as a result.

When: You should feel free to use PN in any sort of situation where people are hitting on you in a way that you don't like. We may add other domains with other messages that you can use in other situations, but for now PN is pretty much just about blowing off those making unwanted advances. You might only want to reserve if for people who are being exceptional assholes, though.

Where: Bars, clubs, buses, subways, house parties, anywhere that people hit on you. Preferably written on a paper napkin.

Why: PN is directly and obviously inspired by The Rejection Line, which is a phone number you call rather than an email address. The Rejection Line is a brilliant idea, but I wasn't able to find a version of it that worked over email.

How: It's just email, it's not that hard.

The guy who made this also made some other things, which are much more interesting.
